“The Customer Board’s purpose is to allow open and constructive communication between the NHS and NHS Supply Chain, with the ultimate aim of influencing the strategy of NHS Supply Chain to enable greater savings to be delivered to NHS Trusts.” – Chris Sharratt, Chair of NHS Supply Chain’s Customer Board.

In the first meeting the board members agreed that the priority focus areas of the Customer Board are; “Evidence” and “Communications”. Working groups have been established to develop these areas further.

Both of the identified focus areas aim to ensure that NHS Supply Chain presents its opportunities in a way, both with respect to content and channel, that makes it simpler for trusts to see, assess and take-up available opportunities.

The workstreams aim to provide compelling evidence that will allow trusts to realise savings, and the enormous buying power of the NHS to be harnessed providing benefits to all.
