We are pleased to announce the launch of a new contract, for disposable curtains, a new range of products now available to order through NHS Supply Chain.
New products
Disposable cubicle curtains can be used throughout the hospital ward environment and are usually changed every three to six months, depending on areas of use. This product not only gives a smart, clean and tidy appearance offering patient privacy but also assists with infection control.
Manufactured from 100% polypropylene, a material which naturally resists the spread of infection, some products also have an anti-bacterial treatment included. Besides being used in the general hospital wards, disposable cubicle curtains have additional benefits in acute areas where contamination is more prevalent with staff being able to change the curtains in minutes.
Disposable cubicle curtains are cost effective in use:
- zero capital outlay where suitable curtain railing exists
- no laundry costs
- easy and reduced fitting time without disruption to ward areas.
The product range is available in two colours (light blue and medium blue) and four sizes as described below: 7.5 x 2.0 metre drop 7.2 x 2.0 metre drop 7.5 x 1.95 metre drop 4.5 x 1.95 metre drop.
Please refer to the NHS Supply Chain catalogue for further details of supplier colour and size description. Additional colours and sizes will be added to our catalogue based on demand. Please contact your local Account Manager.
The material weight of the curtain ranges from 100gsm to 120gsm and offers you choice on both quality and price. The product range is easy to fit to existing curtain rails and complies with flame retardancy standards (compliant to BS 5867: part 2 1980 type B or C flammability certification). Each curtain has its own date change label to ensure constant auditing and regular curtain changes.
