Following a successful contract offering customers a range of incumbent body wash products, NHS Supply Chain is pleased to announce the extension of the Body Wash and Associated Products contract.

Background and summary

From March 2009, based on guidance from the Department of Health, all elective patients prior to admission have to be screened for Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The aim is to cover all admissions (including emergencies) as soon as possible within three years. The Bodywash products contract supports the MRSA patient screening and decolonisation programme.

The MRSA Testing contract promotes a wide range of cost effective in-vitro diagnostic testing products for the isolation and identification of MRSA.
