NHS Supply Chain is pleased to announce the renewal of the Confectionery and Snacks contract.

Following the sandwiches tender in 2010 and hot beverages and vending consumables in early 2011, Confectionery is the final contract in the front-of-house offer to be tendered.

There are 20 new additions to the contract all for front-of-house which has grown our choice of suppliers from 10 to 16. We will also enable us to undertake far more promotional activity than in the past, with promotional calendars being agreed with suppliers on the new agreement.

Improving sourcing over the last 18 months has enabled us to offer more savings options and better product ranges for front-of-house. The introduction of alternative product opportunities on some patient feeding lines will deliver savings of up to 5% compared to the previous confectionery agreement.

Additional products can be introduced over the term of the contract (subject to them being within the scope of the original award).

All products available through the contract will be stock items and delivered as part of the consolidated delivery from NHS Supply Chain.

Hot beverages – savings of up to 30% on some patient drinks
Cold beverages – better range for front of house
Vending consumables – better range for front of house
Sandwiches – savings of up to 27% through mini competitions and eAuction
Ready prepared meals – savings of up to 20%

Benefits

Additional products can be introduced over the term of the contract (subject to them being within the scope of the original award).

Patient feeding range changes

We are please to now offer the Seabrook range of potato crisps as part of our range in addition to Walkers and Real Crisps. These have replaced the budget KP range which will be available whist stocks last. These offer a lower priced product and are suitable for retail, vending and patient feeding.

The range of patient feeding cakes supplied by Fulfil have undergone development and as such several new codes have been raised. They are now utilising in house bakeries which is delivering a higher quality product at competitive pricing lower than Fenside Bakeries products. Please note Fenside Bakeries are not an accredited supplier to NHS Supply Chain and are no longer on contract.
