Our IT team have implemented additional tools to aid in determining the root cause and is continuing to work on a resolution with the highest priority – further updates will follow.
Our analysis is indicating that there is additional load being placed onto the system by users viewing the catalogue without a login. The viewing itself is not an issue, however there is evidence of bots accessing and downloading the information which does place huge pressure on the server, slowing it down, and making it challenging for those trying to place orders.
We ask that anyone requiring a download of information from the catalogue applies for a login via this link www.supplychain.nhs.uk/create. This will enable us to better manage the traffic through the system, particularly at peak times during core working hours. For any activity on the catalogue not linked to placing orders we would appreciate that, where possible, this is done outside of the core hours of 8am and 6pm.
We are currently experiencing technical issues with the Online Catalogue and Ordering service. Our IT Teams are currently investigating and prioritising a resolution.
