Following the success of the award-winning Chefs Academy, our Culinary and Dietetics team are excited to announce the official launch of Skills Academy.

We have limited spaces at each event and not everyone will be able to attend. We will get back in touch to let you know the outcome of your request. If you can’t attend this particular event, there may be future opportunities which we will discuss with you. 

Skills Academy is a brand-new training experience aimed at raising the profile of NHS general catering assistants, providing them with new skillsets for personal and professional development within the NHS.

Skills Academy is designed to address the growing need for comprehensive training and resources for NHS colleagues. The Skills Academy focus on skills enhancement, helping to raise NHS general catering assistants’ confidence, allowing them to feel a sense of pride and professionalism.

I had such a positive return to work following attendance at both the Skills and Chef’s Academies.  There were a lot of positive and exciting conversations happening amongst our colleagues, with a lot of other colleagues eager to join the next events being held in our area.  I think it really brought home to them that they are the key to making positive change in a hospital setting, whether its patient feeding all the way through to the retail offering, where we are providing food for our visitors and staff.  We are going to using some of the concepts and skills to provide food for our patients in the gardens for one of our hospital charity events.
