Southern Customer Board

Alex Gild, Deputy CEO and CFO, Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is the Chair of the Southern Customer Board.

The Southern Customer Board meets quarterly with the next meeting taking place virtually on 3 March 2022.

At each meeting members discuss NHS Supply Chain performance, improvement plans, landscape changes, share best practice and decide the key issues that should be discussed by the National Board.

The last meeting was held on 30 November 2021, topics of discussion included;

  • NHSE/I provided an update and agreed that moving forwards a summary of where organisations are against the standards will be given.
  • Members were reminded that there are a mix of high end clinical and smaller consumable savings opportunities on the workplan.
  • Going forward workplans will include avoidance and mitigation as well as sustainability options.
  • The resilience working group is now operational as an output of discussions at the last round of Regional and National Customer Boards.
