  • If you have any further questions, please contact your local NHS Supply Chain Customer Services Advisor.
    • The supplier Essity UK Ltd informed us that the differences in the TENA Slips products is still ongoing.
    • One product code remains affected:
      CFP1629 – All-in-one pads absorbency band D17 Medium 70-125cm Textile Back Sheet.

Leg Elastics – The leg elastics are straight and not curved which means that the product will sit slightly differently against the patient. During the fitting of the product it is extremely important to measure around the hips, so the right size is chosen and ensure a close fit in the crotch area to minimise the risk of leakage.
Side Panels – The side panels are wider on the front and rear of the products; therefore, the product may look larger overall, however the core product width is the same.
Top Sheet and distribution layer called Feel Dry Advanced™ – a new top sheet and distribution layer draws liquid away from the surface, keeping the skin dry and reducing moisture levels. FeelDry technology rapidly wicks away large quantities of urine into the product core. The urine remains locked in the core even under pressure, keeping it away from the skin for enhanced comfort.
Back sheet – An improved back sheet which will include the size of the product and the word “premium”.

  • The anticipated resolution date is now 14 August 2020.
  • See our Downloads ▼ section for further information on the affected product codes.

Update:

  • The supplier Essity UK Ltd informed us that three (CFQ911, CFP1627 and CFP1824) of the previously affected product codes are now back to being produced at their usual manufacturing site and back to their usual product specification.
  • One product code remains affected:
    CFP1629 – All-in-one pads absorbency band D17 Medium 70-125cm Textile Back Sheet.
  • This is due to the ongoing issues with the changeover in manufacturing site.

Impact:

  • The affected product code is still available to order, however, due to the change in manufacturing site, there are some differences in the TENA Slip products:
Leg Elastics – The leg elastics are straight and not curved which means that the product will sit slightly differently against the patient. During the fitting of the product it is extremely important to measure around the hips, so the right size is chosen and ensure a close fit in the crotch area to minimise the risk of leakage.

Back sheet – An improved back sheet which will include the size of the product and the word “premium”.
  • These changes are with immediate effect.
  • See our Downloads ▼ section for further information on the affected product codes.
  • The anticipated resolution date is 29 May 2020.
  • Unfortunately, for this product code there is no other potential alternative product codes.
  • If you have any further questions, please contact your local NHS Supply Chain Customer Services Advisor.

Change:

  • The supplier Essity UK Ltd has informed us that the production of some of its TENA Slip products has been temporarily transferred to a different manufacturing site.
  • This is due to an unforeseen significant increase in demand for these products exceeding manufacturing capability.
  • The four product codes affected are:
    CFP1824 – All-in-one pads absorbency band D15 Small 50-90cm Textile Back Sheet
    CFP1627 – All-in-one pads absorbency band D16 Medium 70-125cm Textile Back Sheet
    CFP1629 – All-in-one pads absorbency band D17 Medium 70-125cm Textile Back Sheet
    CFQ911 – All-in-one pads absorbency band D18 Medium 70-125cm Textile Back Sheet.
