Important Customer Notice Update

  • The supply issue with Bonanno Suprapubic Catheter products from Becton Dickinson is continuing.
  • One product code remains affected in total:
    • FST693 – Catheter suprapubic with introducer needle 14g x 11-inch catheter 18fg x 11 inch needle.
  • Limited stock of FST693 is arriving week commencing 15 July 2024, then the suspension will be lifted, with Protect Demand Management in place.
  • Additional final stock is still scheduled to arrive week commencing 29 July 2024.
  • A potential indirect alternative product is available to order through our online catalogue.

  • We will continue to review the stock to minimise further disruption and will update this ICN as soon as we have further information.
  • The supply issue is anticipated to be resolved by 2 August 2024.
  • The supplier Becton Dickinson (BD) has informed us of the decision to discontinue the manufacture of its Bonanno Suprapubic Catheter product:
    • FST693 – Catheter suprapubic with introducer needle 14g x 11-inch catheter 18fg x 11 inch needle.
  • FST693 remains suspended until we receive our final delivery which is now scheduled for week commencing 29 July 2024.
  • Once the delivery is received, the suspension for FST693 will be lifted and the product will be available whilst our remaining stocks last and will become subject to Protect Demand Management.
  • FST693 will be available to order through NHS Supply Chain. However, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS.
  • The BD Bonanno Suprapubic Catheter is used off licence and is commonly used in chest drainage.
  • The product has no balloon on the catheter however, please note, that the alternative that we can provide on the Urology and Bowel Management framework can only be used for its licenced use and does include a balloon.
  • A potential indirect alternative product is available to order through our online catalogue.
