Supply Issues Multiple Suppliers Insulin Needle and Syringe products (ICN 1987)

Important Customer Notice Update

  • The supplier Cardinal Health UK has informed us that the supply issue with its Safety Insulin Needle and Syringe products is ongoing.
  • One additional product code is affected and unavailable to order:
    • FWD087 – Safety Insulin Needle & Syringe.
  • There are now 11 product codes affected in total and are subject to intermittent supply.

  • Although we do not currently have a resolution date for the supply issue, we will update the ICN as soon as we have further information.

  • Further alternative product codes have been identified as 1ml Insulin Syringes. These will require a separate safety hypodermic needle to be purchased.

    • FSW1425 – Insulin Syringe 1ml Luer Slip Concentric Clear Plunger Sterile
    • FSW773 – Insulin Syringe 1ml Luer Slip 3 Piece Concentric Clear Sterile

    • FWD085 – Safety Insulin Needle & Syringe – 30G x 8mm with 0.5ml Luer Lock Concentric Syringe with Clear Plunger in a Blister Pack
    • FWD155 – Safety Insulin Needle & Syringe – 29G x 12.7mm (0.5 inch) with 1ml Luer Slip Syringe
    • FWD157 – Safety Insulin Needle & Syringe – 28G x 12.7mm (0.5 inch) with 0.5ml Luer Slip Syringe
    • FWD161 – Safety Insulin Needle & Syringe – 30G x 12.7mm (0.5 inch) with 0.5ml Luer Slip Syringe.
  • There are 10 codes now affected in total and unavailable to order.
  • The affected product codes will be intermittently available throughout the year. We are looking at sourcing alternatives from additional suppliers.

  • The supply issue is due to manufacturing delays.
