  • The supplier Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has informed us that this supply issue is now resolved.
  • HHH2204 is now available to order through our online catalogue.
  • This ICN is now closed.
  • The supplier Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has informed NHS Supply Chain that supply issues with their Diagnostic Kit is improving.
  • Siemens is currently in the process of expanding its manufacturing infrastructure to support the growing global demand for diabetes testing.
  • During this process, Siemens has encountered inventory shortages, however, it is pleased to share that its manufacturing capacity continues to increase and is now fulfilling its normal monthly demand by regular allocations.
  • Siemens has considered customer needs, and the number of customer orders on hand when making these allocations.
  • Siemens is ensuring that they are getting in touch with all its customers to remind them to keep placing orders so that they can capture all customers with each allocation.
  • The remaining products above the allocation will be placed on back order and delivered to customers when available.
  • Siemens will continue to monitor their supplies and increase their stock levels and expects these product codes to remain subject to intermittent supply until 30 September 2023 to reduce the order backlog.
  • At this stage, Siemens will reassess and advise if the allocation process will remain in place.
  • The next allocation should have arrived with customers by week commencing 15 September 2023.
  • At this stage it is anticipated customers will receive further allocations from week commencing 18 September 2023 and week commencing 25 September 2023.

  • The supplier Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has informed us of intermittent supply issues with its Kit DCA HbA1c diagnostic claim kit non-returnable, HHH2204.
  • The supplier is expanding its manufacturing infrastructure to support the growing global demand for diabetes testing.
  • During this time, customers may experience temporary fluctuations in supply of HbA1c reagents for the DCA Vantage®.

Impact:          

  • HHH2204 is currently subject to intermittent supply.
  • There are currently no potential alternative products available to order through our online catalogue as the product needs to be used on the specific DCA analyser from the same supplier.
  • Siemens customer services are contacting all customers either direct or NHS Supply Chain customers and are suggesting where possible to defer point of care Hba1C tests and instead use pathology lab services if available to them.
