NHS Supply Chain have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Buyer to join the team at Carrwood Park Leeds. The role entails supporting the Medical IT Buyer in selling the support offering of the NHS Supply Chain Medical IT framework into NHS Trusts and supporting them through the procurement process up to the point of order.

 

What does an Assistant Buyer do at NHS Supply Chain?

 

  • To liaise with NHS customers and understand their requirements.
  • To sell the benefits of using the Medical IT Framework to NHS customers and explain the processes involved.
  • Manage NHS customer Healthcare IT projects start to finish which may include the following
  • Indicative prices for business cases,
  • Obtaining quotes from suppliers,
  • Supporting NHS customers through award stage,
  • Managing supplier feedback on NHS customer projects,
  • Maintain database/trackers to ensure information is accurate and up to date.
  • Supporting the Buyer in supplier meetings.
  • To create and issue various supplier and customer sales reports in relation to the Medical IT framework agreement.
  • Carrying out other duties as and when required.

 

 

What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?

 

  • Experience in a similar role or a strong administrative background
  • Commercial and Procurement experience in either public or private sector
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • IT literate (Microsoft office – including Outlook, Teams, Excel & Word)
  • Able to prioritise workload
  • Confident communicator
  • Stakeholder management
  • Work well under pressure
  • IT and software knowledge desirable
  • Knowledge in managing multiple projects

As of now our offices are open, this role will be a hybrid working, 2/3 days in the office and 2/3 days at home as required.
