What does a Customer Relationship Manager do at NHS Supply Chain?

 

Day to day, you’ll manage and develop relationships with a wide range of NHS stakeholders, including Procurement, Medical and Finance Directors, acting as an agency of change using your consultative skills to deliver revenue growth for the NHS SC and savings targets for our NHS Partners. Working autonomously in a field-based role you’ll play a critical part in supporting the NHS in delivering its operational plan and priorities at local level within annual financial frameworks. 

 

Taking a consultative approach with customers and being part of a supportive team, you will need excellent objection handing skills, enthusiasm, the ability to interpret complex data and present it in a simple way that drives action. You’ll be responsible for bringing our long-term strategy to life and in doing so unlock value for our NHS Stakeholders, patients and taxpayers. Focussed on supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care and heling delivery sustainable solutions on the pathway to Net Carbon Zero by influencing the hearts and minds of clinical and non-clinical stakeholders on changing management practices.

 

You’ll be:

 

An extension/partner of the NHS Trusts on-site team

Accountable for driving strategy, owning relationships and delivery of targets.

Leading the engagement of NHS Trust stakeholders including Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, and key Clinical influencers.

Accountable for objective delivery aligned to the NHS long term plan.

Leading and shaping the delivery and continued development of joint savings workplans for individual trusts and integrated care systems.

Identifying and facilitating product change or improvement of purchasing behaviour resulting in cost improvement or returning added value.

Obtaining, understanding, and analysing trust data and be able present product associated data from Microsoft Excel & a suite of business information systems.

Managing the relationship between the NHS and the NHS Supply Chain category tower service providers.  

 

What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?

 

Ability to implement consultative influencing skills, including active listening, questioning, researching, planning, handling objections and securing commitment for mutually beneficial outcomes

Ability to use internal / external network to solve customer problems and plan time and resource to deliver timely outcomes

Ability to understand a complex and evolving organisation.

Be familiar with using a customer relationship management application such as Oracle engagement cloud

Ability to present messages and adjust approach to a broad range of stakeholders both in person and utilising technology.

Be the voice of the customer and drive continuous improvement

Track record of delivering challenging target objectives

Experience of managing and interpreting complex data into meaningful conversations and positive outcomes.

Available to travel regionally/nationally as required

Its desirable that you would have a good understanding of the current/future NHS landscape.

 

How you’ll work:

This is a field-based role, working from a combination of home office and on site at NHS Hospitals. There will be an occasional requirement to travel to other locations.
