Executive Director of Supply Chain

 

NHS Supply Chain is an organisation that procures and supplies ~ £3.5bn of medical devices and consumables to the NHS every year, while driving strategy, standards, efficiency and best practise across the entire NHS Supply Chain.

 

The Executive Director of Supply Chain is a key member of the NHS Supply Chain Executive Team, reporting directly to a Board Director responsible for the strategy, operation and success of the companies Supply Chain capability.

 

Leading, driving and ensuring the Supply Chain delivery strategy is a success is pivotal to ensure that NHS Supply Chain has the focus and key capability to deliver best in class performance and meet system challenges. NHS Supply Chain is a vital part of the NHS system.

The successful candidate will have the following essential knowledge, skills and experience:

 

  • Significant business management experience and senior management experience in a procurement or supply chain environment
  • Familiarity with modern supply chain techniques and approaches, such as strategic category management and the application of cost management principles, is important, and relevant industry/sector experience is advantageous
  • Significant leadership experience, with a track record of leading and developing teams within a matrix organisation.
  • Robust knowledge of partnering expertly with Logistics Service Providers to drive continuous improvement
  • Extensive experience in change management including senior level influencing
  • An ability to lead effective cultural, process and technological change across the entire NHS supply chain
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Demonstrable ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships
  • Structured thinking and the ability to break down complex issues
  • Commercially minded and able to quickly digest broad commercial information and drive decisions
  • A Master’s Degree or Equivalent Level

 

 

Locations: The following locations could be considered for this role.

Warrington, Leeds, or Nottingham
