Salary: £47,000 – £56,000 per annum

NHS Supply Chain are recruiting for a Learning and Development Partner (Leadership & Talent). This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding business which offers you the opportunity to ‘stamp your mark’: you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of learning interventions to meet our ambitious goals. Working within our Human Resources function you will be part of creating an effective workforce by enhancing the learning experience through using the learning lifecycle and measuring its impact across the business.


What does a learning & Development Business Partner do at NHS Supply Chain?


§  You will be the Leadership Development Specialist within NHS Supply Chain ensuring leaders support learning and development activities within their teams and reinforce learning, coaching, mentoring plus hold regular talent reviews to ensure
succession plans are kept up to date.

§  Through conducting training needs analysis, you will engage with senior leaders to identify and deliver meaningful development initiatives that support business strategy.

§  Identify, develop mentors and create a culture of coaching and mentoring throughout all levels of the organisation.

§  Be the specialist and trusted advisor within NHS Supply Chain for all leadership, coaching and mentoring, talent, and succession planning initiatives.

§  Create learning interventions that are aligned with the organisation’s strategy and business objectives and have a good all-round understanding of the Company’s strategic plan and how Learning and Development (Leadership & Talent) will add value.

§  Using a blended learning approach, you will embrace different styles of training techniques including e-learning, webinars, tutorial sessions, coaching and mentoring.

§  Actively source, negotiate contracts and develop positive working relationships outsourced learning providers.

§  Have an awareness on the allocated L&D budget and direct accordingly to implement and prioritise learning events to drive leadership capability throughout the organisation.

§  Be part of the wider HR and learning and development function.

§  Supporting our colleague onboarding experience.


 What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?

§  Substantial previous experience of working within an L&D role and delivering solutions across leadership development, talent and succession management.

§  Experienced in creating and driving a high performing culture across leadership teams

§  Strong stakeholder management and partnering skills demonstrated through influencing both senior colleagues and leaders across the business to deliver inspirational leadership development programmes, talent, and succession mapping plus performance, development and review processes.

§ You will have confidence, integrity, approachability, and gravitas which creates a great first impression making it easy to do business with you. You will be able to develop and deliver meaningful and engaging communication plans.

§  Ability to make well-formed recommendations through previous experience developing strategic leadership development programmes.

§ Identify capability gaps to improve our leadership performance to deliver or strategic business goals.

§  Working across functions to review internal talent and ensure that top talent is adequately supported to achieve their full potential

§  Strong and natural coach/ mentor with experience of translating programmes into the culture of an organisation

§  Experience of leading talent and succession management process across a complexed organisation to create talent pools and career maps for our top talent

§  Vast experience of how to drive employee engagement through a leadership population

§  The ability to work cross functionally and with external partners to deliver joined up programmes

§  Awareness and experience utilising apprenticeship funded leadership frameworks from aspiring leaders through to executive requirements.

§  Business schools/further education partnership working

§  Design, delivery and evaluation of leadership programmes.

§  Be part of the wider HR and learning and development function

§  Build capability and effectiveness within our workforce (Not just leaders)

§  Experience of successfully managing complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders, from start to finish

§  Strong experience of delivering blended programmes to accommodate a variety of learning styles

§  Expertise in using office 365 software

·        Accredited coach

·        Psychometrics part A&B



·        Project management (prince 2)

·        E-learning development qualification


How you’ll work:


Currently, all SCCL offices are closed until Early 2022, so, for now, our colleagues are all working from home. From Spring 2022 we will move to hybrid working; a blend of home and office working – 2/3 days in the office and 2/3 days at home. From early 2022 we will be learning hybrid working together, so you can expect to travel to the offices perhaps once or twice a week.
