NHS Supply Chain are recruiting for an Accounts Receivable Controller in the Accounts Receivable team. This role sits within the Financial Services Function reporting directly into the Accounts Receivable Team Leader.


You will be part of a highly motivated team consisting of 12 Controllers, 2 Senior Controllers and 2 Team Leaders who are committed in maximising cash flow and minimising overdue debt levels. You will be customer facing, heavily involved with cash collections and dispute resolution



What does an AR Ledger Services Controller do at NHS Supply Chain?


  • Actively chase outstanding customer debt in accordance with agreed terms, policies and procedures and promptly resolve queries.
  • Provide analysis on customer data to identify adverse behaviours and prevent exposure to risk.
  • Provide accurate and timely information on the status of customer accounts/debt to inform business decisions, identify and escalate issues and manage customer expectations.
  • Provide cover to other members of the team as and when required
  • Maintain processes and controls to ensure transactions are recorded accurately, timely and in accordance with agreed accounting standards.
  • Develop functional understanding of systems processes and controls to effectively perform role
  • Develop commercial awareness and capability to proactively manage customer relationships in accordance with agreed guidelines



What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?


  • Ledger Services background (credit control)
  • Experience of processing and handling large volumes of data
  • Reconciliation of accounts with high volume/low value transactions
  • Some experience in Ledger Services or general finance environment with exposure to Ledger Services



How you’ll work:


Currently, all SCCL offices are closed until September 2021, so, for now, our colleagues are all working from home. From Spring 2022 we will move to hybrid working; a blend of home and office working – 2/3 days in the office and 2/3 days at home. From September 2021 we will be learning hybrid working together, so you can expect to travel to the offices perhaps once or twice a week.
