NHS Supply Chain are recruiting for a People Partner (Senior).
Purpose of the role
The People Partner will work with senior leaders in the Commercial Directorate to develop strategic people plans that enables the delivery of business goals. The Commercial Directorate is the largest operational area within NHSSC and as such the role is required to lead on a range of people strategies both within the Commercial Directorate, but also across the wider organisation and the People Partnering Team. Additionally, as a successor to the Head of People Partnering role, they will be instrumental in driving the target operating model change plan within the Directorate.
The People Partner (Commercial) is primarily responsible for:
Supporting the design and implementation of great people partnering practices across the organisation
Deputising in the absence of the Head of People Partner
Partnering with the Executive Director and their Senior Leadership Team, within their Directorate to develop and implement a strategic people plan to support the delivery of overall business goals
Becoming a trusted advisor and critical friend to the Executive team; to coach and challenge their thinking to deliver excellence people solutions, in collaboration with the wider People and Engagement Directorate Teams.
Providing specialist, best practice People advice to leaders to enable delivery of people strategies, projects and change initiative
Enabling Directorate alignment to corporate organisation principles
Being future focussed and able to shape the People Strategy for their assigned directorate
What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?
Level 7 CIPD qualified, or equivalent level of experience
Significant experience of and proven track record of people partnering, at a Board and Executive level within a large organisation.
Previous experience of introducing business/people partnering with a strong focus on enabling strategic delivery and proven experience of transforming people delivery.
Significant experience of working with business leaders to deliver large transformational change programmes
Workforce planning capability – to design effective people strategies to maximise the effectiveness of people budgets considering the breadth of available talent development and acquisition options.
Credible, professional, and articulate; able to bring their own experience and style of thinking to coach and influence decision making
Commercial thinker, able to solve problems and implement people focussed solutions with ease
Excellent communication skills to convey information clearly, deliver complex messages to varying audiences, whilst listening to be responsive to needs and whilst acting in a professional manner both when speaking or writing.
This role is a successor role to the Head of People Partnering position, so significant experience of operating at a senior People Partner level is required, together with significant experience of designing people strategies to deliver medium to long term organisational goals is required.
