Salary: Salary: £43,520 rising in increments to £51,200 in year 3

We have an exciting opportunity within NHS Supply Chain for a Supplier Manager to join the NHSSC Supplier Relationship Management team.

 

What does a Supplier Manager do at NHS Supply Chain?

 

      ·  Build strong and collaborative relationships with strategic, preferred & key suppliers ensuring adequate capability and capacity is available and formulate a relationship management plan.
· Creation, ownership, and lead on joint business planning with S/P/K suppliers via Relationship Management Plans (including supplier engagement strategies)
· Routinely monitor relevant information sources for supplier insight at an appropriate frequency to stay abreast of the supplier’s business position whilst applying structured research to understand supplier and competitor strengths and weaknesses to use as leverage in the management of a given supplier.
· Proactively review the supplier contract at regular intervals to validate that a sound commercial agreement is in place detailing clear specifications, agreed performance criteria, review and feedback mechanisms, audit rights, dispute resolution, continuous improvement, remediation, and termination – working with the Commercial function as appropriate
·   Introduce opportunities for value and Innovation to NHS Supply Chain and our customers
·    Implement supplier improvement strategies that support the business needs
·  Enhance supplier relationships by developing and continually improving upon post-award supplier performance and processes
·   Drive supplier scorecards and ongoing supplier performance improvement working with supply base
·  Promote and monitors the implementation of an integrated supply chain involving key supply chain stakeholders at all levels of the system
·   Offer input regarding negotiation processes and related tools
·   Support the development of supplier strategies, bid packages, and contracts
·   Actively engage in supplier development activity led or supported by NHS full alignment with CAPA and innovation roles
·   Key support and stakeholder in determining SRM tools/systems/platforms for future adoption including SRM web page format and updates
· Offers input to corporate comms on supplier communication forums and content

 

What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.

Professional qualification within procurement or supplier management disciplines or studying towards qualification.

Expertise with problem-solving tools and their deployment

Demonstrable technical related work experience in procurement /supply chain,

Experience of managing contract performance and collaboration across complex supplier relationships

Introduction of Supplier Performance Management capability across the product / services range to ensure effective delivery of business requirement.

Successfully established and managed a Supplier Relationship Management Plan/Joint Business plan with relevant suppliers within an SRM programme

Demonstrable ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings.

Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.

Excellent communication, facilitation and coaching skills – ideal for driving group discussions, idea generation and problem solving and consensus forming activities.

Capacity to drive change whilst continuing to deliver business, team and personal objectives.

Experience of developing and obtaining buy-in for SRM strategies and Supplier categorisation with key stakeholders.

Commercially astute, with the knowledge of how to use Supplier Relationship Management to unlock value for the business.

High levels of energy to succeed with a strong, positive sense of purpose and commitment to excellence.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team across all levels within the business

Flexibility to travel regularly as required.
