The website is partially compliant with the – Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 – AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed here.

Non-accessible content

The content listed is non-accessible for the following reasons:

• Most older PDF documents are not fully accessible using screen reader software.
• Some older video content does not have captions or subtitles.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Due to our brand’s colour scheme, some of our content does not meet the colour contrast criteria (https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/#contrast-minimum).

Some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We plan to add text alternatives for all images by July 2024. When we publish new content we’ll make sure our use of images meets accessibility standards.

We will be undertaking periodic reviews of all website code and content, and improving training for our content editors.

Older PDFs and videos are being phased out and in some cases, replaced with new versions that are accessible.

This website was last tested on 2 April 2024 against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.

The test was carried out by our internal website team. The most viewed pages were tested using automated testing tools by our website team. A further audit of the website was carried out to the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.
