Charity Walks in Nottingham and London this July
In July 2019 we will be staging two afternoon walks in order to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Care. Last year through a variety of events we raised £5,000 for the charity and we hope to beat that as a minimum target this time around.
See our Useful Links 🔗 section if you’re able to support this very worthy cause. If some of our suppliers are able to sponsor our walks we would be particularly grateful.
In London, our walk will begin at the Oval Underground Station, proceeding west along the banks of the River Thames, skirting Battersea Park and then across to the north bank at Albert Bridge. Passing Pimlico and Millbank, we’ll cross the water again at Lambeth Bridge and Westminster Bridge.
Our route planners continue the theme of criss-crossing from the northern side to the southern side of the river and back again, with the walk including the Waterloo, Blackfriars, Millennium and finally London Bridge! The finishing point will be near Fenchurch Station.
In Nottingham, we will start at our main office – Equinox House – then wander up through the historic Lace Market before turning west through the city centre and heading out past the Savoy Cinema, which dates from before the Second World War and featured as the backdrop for scenes in the movie ‘Saturday Night and Sunday Morning’ in 1960.
We’ll progress along a winding route taking in a number of the different buildings of Nottingham University, through Wollaton Park and then back to the city via the main campus, along the canal and finally across Maid Marian Way to our final destination back in the Lace Market.
