A Day in the Life of Linda Saunders
In June, the team caught up with Linda Saunders, Clinical Engagement and Implementation Manager for NHS Supply Chain: Orthopaedics, Trauma and Spine, and Ophthalmology (Category Tower 4).
Linda joined in 2021, following many years working as an Ophthalmic Theatre Sister. In her new role, she collaborates with suppliers, NHS trusts, the Department of Health, NHS Supply Chain clinicians and professional bodies.
They are working together towards a fully integrated service for trusts and GIRFT – Getting It Right First Time (a programme that runs nationwide, designed to improve both treatment and care of patients in the NHS).
Linda is also using her clinical knowledge and experience to help guide and interpret spend efficiency reports, product alternatives, appropriate rationalisation options and value reliability in documents. This helps to support trusts when choosing the best products for their patients.
