Delivering a Record Breaking Peak Period for NHS Customers

10 January 2020

NHS Supply Chain has successfully processed and delivered the highest number of orders to NHS customers during the 2019 Christmas Peak period.

These are traditionally the busiest weeks of the year for NHS customer orders and the NHS Supply Chain logistics network, operated by Unipart Logistics, has seen significantly increased volume flowing through its sites. Sales revenue is currently more than 20% higher than last year, showing that trusts are significantly increasing their usage of NHS Supply Chain.

This culminated in 2 million products being dispatched and delivered in a single day during this period, including more than 300,000 units from the Alfreton site alone.

The Home Delivery Service, also operated by Unipart Logistics, has also seen its busiest week, with more than 17,000 orders placed and successfully processed to NHS customers and care homes across the country.
