Driving Safety into the Agenda

2 February 2021

At NHS Supply Chain, safety is at the heart of what we do.

As part of the NHS family, we prioritise patient and user safety when supplying clinical products to the NHS by raising standards and effective partnerships.

Our Clinical and Product Assurance (CaPA) team ensures the products we provide to trusts are safe and suitable through collaboratively working with national and local clinical leaders, key regulators and our Category Tower Service Providers. The patient safety process includes the resolution of all product complaints which have caused or pose risk of causing patient or user harm.

“We’re making it easier for trusts to procure safely and easily, reducing local burden and freeing up staff time for frontline care, in addition to building value for money.”

Jonathan Devereux, Head of Safety and Innovation

Jonathan leads the team that focuses on driving proactive action on safety complaints, building an innovation pathway and incorporating safety into the agenda for future procurement.
