Food Resources Review – COVID-19

22 January 2021

As we continue through another national lockdown and a difficult period for the NHS, we are working hard to update our current COVID-19 resources.

This involves bringing together people across our food account management, food procurement, and culinary and dietetic teams to produce added support for our NHS customers.

See our Useful Links section to find extra resources that are available now:

Dysphagia Meal Selection Tool and Guide – to support you in selecting the right textured food for patients with difficulty swallowing.

Healthy Meal Options for Staff – some suggested meal guides, including nutritional analysis, for staff meal boxes that are easy to put together. Some don’t even have to be stored in a fridge.

Fast Access To Healthy Meal Options for Staff in Action – read about how these were rolled out for one particular NHS trust.

High Protein Snacks for COVID-19 Patients – some suggested options, including nutritional analysis, from our in-house dietitian Joanna Instone.

We also have some emergency meal suggestions and emergency food order suggestions for short-staffed catering teams.

For more information on any of these resources, please speak to your local food account manager.

Any future resources that we create will be shared in our newsletter and on our food web page on the NHS Supply Chain website. If you would like to receive our monthly newsletter, please use our enquiry form to sign up.
