NHS Supply Chain: Cardio-Vascular, Radiology, Audiology and Pain Management National Supplier Conference 2019
October saw the second successful NHS Supply Chain: Cardio-Vascular, Radiology, Audiology and Pain Management, supplier event take place.
This year’s event focussed on driving system value across the NHS. The event brought together representatives from NHS Supply Chain, NHS England, colleagues from the National Institution of Health and Care Excellence and the wider supplier community to share learnings and look towards the future.
On the day delegates were able to hear from Alan Wain, Chief Operating Officer, NHS Supply Chain who opened the conference with a key note address on ‘how the NHS Supply Chain operating model is supporting the NHS and MedTech suppliers.’ They also received presentations from
- Charlotte Allan-Neale, Programme Director High Cost Tariff-Excluded Devices, NHS England
- Sheryl Warttig, Senior Technical Advisor at Centre for Health Technology Evaluation, National Institute Clinical Excellence
- Members of the CTSP senior leadership team.
Speaking after the event Alan said,
The NHS Supply Chain, supplier event in Birmingham was a real success. This event demonstrates our commitment to suppliers and our focus on dialogue and transparency. Suppliers within the NHS Supply Chain Cardio-Vascular, Radiology, Endoscopy, Audiology and Pain Management category received unrivalled access to updates, insights and future strategies. They are now better positioned to align to the Operating Model and drive their businesses forward.Alan Wain, Chief Operating Officer

The conference also included two interactive panel sessions where suppliers had the opportunity to raise any queries or ask questions either on what they had heard during the day or if they had any data requirements or operational challenges.
Mark Hart, Category Tower Director reiterated Alan’s sentiment saying,
The event has surpassed every measure of success. We are delighted to be able to host NHS Supply Chain industry colleagues in this way, it is vitally important that we continue to work in partnership with industry, aligned to joint goals of enforcing patient safety, enhancing patient outcomes and driving total systems value. The way we structured the event with industry insight and planned follow up activities, enables us to have conversations that will set up the NHS and the suppliers for future success.Mark Hart, Category Tower Director

This October, the NHS Supply Chain: Cardio-Vascular, Radiology, Audiology and Pain Management team will be holding their annual supplier engagement conference at the Millennium Point Centre in Birmingham.
The event on 17 October 2019 will bring together senior speakers from all major organisations linked to the delivery of the new operating model.
Delegates can expect to hear about the challenges and successes delivered since the new operating model went live in May 2018, along with a future outlook from Keynote Speaker Alan Wain (Chief Operating Officer, NHS Supply Chain).
The event is part of NHS Supply Chain: Cardio-Vascular, Radiology, Audiology and Pain Management’s continual commitment to all of their suppliers with the express purpose of driving transparency and competitiveness in the market place, with a focus on unlocking ‘systems value’ benefits for the NHS.
As we know, fundamental changes have taken place under the new operating model, especially around the new clinical based approach to procurement, national pricing and the introduction of HealthTech Connect (innovation pathway).
Ongoing awareness of these key aspects will enable suppliers to maximise their product portfolios and bring innovation to market, all to the benefit of frontline services.
Mark Hart, Director of NHS Supply Chain: Cardio-Vascular, Radiology, Audiology and Pain Management, will facilitate the event which is designed to provide the supplier base with access to a panel of senior representatives along with members of the Senior Leadership and Procurement teams.
