Introducing Our New Food Savings Web Page

We are excited to launch a new Food Savings website where you can find a great range of promotions from your favourite brands. We will update Food Savings web page on monthly basis.

Nutrition and Hydration Week

This year’s Nutrition and Hydration Week runs from 17 March to 23 March.

As part of this awareness event, and to highlight and educate people on the value of food and drink in maintaining health, we are delighted to offer you a fantastic range of promotions.

This includes a range of cordials and fruit squashes, which our Nutrition Compliance Manager Pirianka Louis-Montfort describes as “providing a hydrating and flavourful drink option for all ages”.

March Seasonal Recipe – Bramley Apple and Seasonal Fruit Crumble

Recipe IngredientsQuantity
Frozen forest fruits or berries (use fresh if in season)125g
Plain flour200g
Demerara sugar100g
Margarine100g
Bramley apples300g

Recipe method

  • Preheat the oven to 180C.
  • Dice the margarine into small cubes and place in a bowl with the plain flour.
  • Mix flour and margarine together by hand until it resembles fine breadcrumbs, then stir in the demerara sugar.  
  • Peel the apples, de-core and chop into bitesize chunks. 
  • Place the apples and frozen/fresh fruits of the forest/berries into an ovenproof dish.  
  • Cover the whole surface with the prepared crumble mix. 
  • Bake in the oven at 160C for 30 – 40 minutes until crumble topping is golden. 
  • Serves five.

Chef`s top tip. You can sprinkle the apple peel with icing sugar or caster sugar and bake in the oven to make apple crisps. Perfect as a snack or garnish to soups and desserts.  

HCA Forum 2025 Coming Up Next Month

We are excited to be exhibiting at the Hospital Caterers Association Leadership and Development Forum 2025 next month. HCA Forum will be held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 1 – 2 April 2025. The team will be promoting our frameworks as well as our value-added services.

Additionally, our Culinary Ambassador Nick Vadis will be hosting an interactive session. This session will be aimed at teaching hospital caterers how to better manage their food waste. Come and see us on Stand M11 to learn about the savings you can make.
