Maximising the Value of NHS Procurement

27 September 2021

Looking at ways procurement can be maximised to better support frontline care and create saving opportunities, will require a shift in the way we do things.

The development of Value Based Procurement (VBP) in the NHS Supply Chain is providing opportunities for both buyers and suppliers to create change. It will create opportunities for total cost reduction across patient pathways on condition that products/solutions deliver tangible and measurable benefits that make a positive impact on patient care and increase efficiency.

In the September / October 2021 edition of the National Health Executive magazine, Brian Mangan, VBP project lead for NHS Supply Chain, talks about how NHS Supply Chain following successful completion of phase one of its VBP project, is committed to generating opportunities to release capacity and offer greater choice for NHS organisations.
