Over £1 million savings on Silicone Foam Dressings

Working in partnership with our suppliers and the NHS, we have achieved significant price reductions on Silicone Foam Dressings on the Advanced Wound Care framework, resulting in available national annual savings of approximately £1.3 million. Not only will this help deliver significant savings for the NHS, importantly, clinical choice has not been impacted.

Supplier Smith & Nephew are offering an average 33% price reduction. ¹These reductions equate to annual savings of £842,883. The price decreases are across brands including the Allevyn Life and Allevyn Gentle Border range (32 product lines in total).

Molnlycke are offering an average 10% pride reduction, equal to £367,751 in annual savings, across the Mepilex brand range (29 product lines in total).

H&R Healthcare are offering an 8% price reduction, equal to £72,693 in annual savings across the Kliniderm foams brand (19 product lines in total).

Finally, Urgo are offering an average 9.6% price reduction, which equates to £26,361 in annual savings, across two Urgotul brands ‐ Absorb and Absorb Border (6 product lines in total).

This latest example of collaborative working between suppliers and the NHS has ensured choice is maintained, and a positive, immediate saving has been achieved. Together, these price reductions total £1,309,688 in annual savings. Price reductions will be in place until the end of the existing Framework Agreement on 31 December 2020.
