NHS Supply Chain awarded CIPS Corporate Certification Standard - Improving our business to support the NHS.

NHS Supply Chain has been awarded the Corporate Certification Standard from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), three years after receiving the initial Processes, Policies and Procedures (PPP) certification in 2012.

The Standard certification is in recognition of the business’ continuous commitment to delivering globally recognised procurement standards. NHS Supply Chain is one of the first NHS procurement organisations to achieve CIPS Standard Certification, which demonstrates our focus on establishing effective procurement processes.

The Corporate Certification Standard reflects that NHS Supply Chain’s procurement function is maintaining the policies, procedures, processes and systems required by the CIPS standards to achieve increasing levels of influence, involvement and control.

“We are delighted to have been awarded the CIPS Standard Certification” says David Pierpoint, Managing Director of Procurement and Customer Engagement at NHS Supply Chain. “This is a real achievement for our team who has continuously strived to deliver an improving service for our customers across the NHS. We endeavour to become a world-class procurement partner so that we can pass the benefits back to our customers.”

“As a business, we are constantly evolving our purchasing methods to reflect the needs and requirements of the NHS. A key element of this is being responsive to our customers and suppliers.  Our continued work and partnership with CIPS is instrumental in delivering improved procurement practices and expertise.”

David Noble, Group CEO at CIPS said ”NHS Supply Chain are an excellent example of good practice. The focus on delivering value improvement is well managed and controlled by experienced staff and that is demonstrated by the award.“

“The processes and policies are well written and have been rigorously enforced. There is a clear alignment with organisational strategies and coupled with a focus on listening to customer feedback, results have been clearly evident. A very competent submission and their on-going Corporate Certification is well deserved.” concludes David.
