Changes to our invoices

From 1 April 2019 the entity responsible for the NHS Supply Chain procurement; Supply Chain Coordination Limited (SCCL) will be VAT registered independently of the NHS and will therefore exist outside the English NHS divisional VAT registration.

This change will require NHS Supply Chain to charge VAT on the supplies it makes into the NHS (and other third party organisations) and will only apply to English NHS organisations within the English NHS divisional VAT registration. Non NHS organisations and NHS organisations outside England already receive VAT invoices, where applicable.

Key changes to our invoices:

  • The VAT cost (which has previously not been visible) will now become itemised and visible to the NHS.
  • VAT registration number
  • The NHS Supply Chain account number
  • Company registration details within the footer of the document.

We have also taken the opportunity to update our invoices with the latest NHS Supply Chain logo, so they are in keeping with our brand.
