Further enhancements to our Online Catalogue and Ordering system to support our Scan4Safety compliance journey

Tuesday 25 July 2017

As part of our compliance journey to implement the Scan4Safety programme and the adoption of common global coding standards (GS1), we will be making further enhancements to our Online Catalogue and Ordering system to display product Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) codes and Global Location Numbers (GLN) codes against Requisition Point codes across all areas of the system.

These changes will be visible to customers from Friday 28 July and you will see them across the following areas of our Online Catalogue and Ordering system:

  • Requisition point maintenance
  • Favourites/standing orders
  • Masking
  • Product comparison
  • Reports/exports.

Further detail on the changes you will see for each of the above areas is provided in our Online Catalogue and Ordering release guidance notes on the link below.

Please note:

  • GTIN codes will only be visible where we have the data from our suppliers
  • GLN codes will only be visible against your requisition points where these been provided.

The above changes we are making will enable our Online Catalogue and Ordering system to become GS1 compliant.

Should you have any comments or questions regarding this improvement, please contact your Customer Services Advisor or email cshelpdesk@supplychain.nhs.uk.
