Contract Information

Stress Incontinence Slings and Bulking Agents - Save through volume purchase

In October 2006, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) issued guidance relating to the treatment of urinary incontinence in women.

The guidance recommended where a conservative range of therapies failed, surgical management of the condition was to include ‘retropubic mid-urethral tape procedures, using a ‘bottom-up’ or ‘top-down’ (transobturator) approach.

In addition to these sling procedures, NICE concluded that intramural bulking agents should also be considered for the management of stress urinary incontinence. After the successful pilot in the south west region with Ethicon and nationwide with Bard, NHS Supply Chain is pleased to announce the launch of the Stress Incontinence Slings and Bulking Agents contract.
