Contract Information Update – Central Venous Catheters and Associated Products


The new framework for Central Venous Catheters will launch on the 5 April 2018 and will run for 24 months until 4 April 2020, with an option to extend for an additional 24 months. Detailed below is an initial overview only, for the outcome of this award and is subject to change. We will continue to update this page with full information over the coming weeks, to include the full product listing and discontinued lines matrix. 


  • The previous framework had 514 products. There are 76 new products being added to this framework. 95% of the products on this framework are non-stock.
  • 50 products will move over from the cardiology framework.

Suppliers - Eight total suppliers, six of which are new.

Savings - Overall savings estimated at £126,000.

Cost pressure* - Overall cost pressure of £78,000.

Delisted Lines - 85 lines will be delisted – 29 of which are due to not being tendered. Measures have been put in place to delay impact of any delisted items until early April 2018.

Alternatives - Will be made available, from 5 April 2018. However due to the clinical nature of these products, trials will be required.
