Contract Information Update – Central Venous Catheters and Associated Products


This framework starts on 5 April 2018, runs for 24 months and ends on 4 April 2020. There is an option to extend for an additional 24 months.

The new framework is one lot only, consisting of critical care products. Realignment of product categories has resulted in products moving away from the General Wound Care, Cardiology, Renal and Syringes and Needles frameworks over to this framework.

  • The new framework will include 923 products.
  • 513 new products are being added, providing innovative products and more choice for our customers.
  • New products include innovative clothing for children from Tookie Limited - upper body apparel that prevents 'lines' snagging, twisting or looping to reduce the incidence of inadvertent or accidental removal of a central line. The apparel must have at least one detachable pouch to hold the end of the catheter.

There are three new suppliers on this framework: B. Braun Medical Limited, Iskus Health Limited and Tookie Limited.


  • There is an overall annualised national price increase of net £23,039.
  • However there are an estimated £134,000 of savings available nationally across several lines of the framework.

Due to the clinical nature of this product we have not listed recommended alternatives where it has been necessary to delist products. Please contact your Account Manager or Customer Service Advisor to discuss your requirements so that we can ensure you receive the correct alternative product.

Delisted lines

  • A total of 105 NPC codes have been delisted.
  • Out of those, only 37 NPC codes have had sales listed against them over the past year.
  • Please see the Delisted Lines file for details of potential alternatives (27 NPC codes have alternatives available).
  • Alternatives will be made available from April 2018, however due to the clinical nature of these products, trials will be required.
