Contract Information

Thermometer Devices and Support Products

The framework for Thermometer Devices & Support Products renewed on the 1 October 2017 and will run for 12 months ending 30 September 2018 with an option to extend for an additional 36 months. Detailed below is the initial overview for the outcome of this award and is subject to change.

This new framework will provide over 70 additional new products with an additional five new suppliers. Around £468k savings are estimated through the use of savings levers such as eAuctions, there are also price increases estimated at £100k giving overall net savings of £369k across the framework. There are 14 delisted lines in total with an approximate value of £185k.

NHS Supply Chain is currently in the process of developing National Price Matrices (NPM) from some of the suppliers in this framework. More information around this will be provided to you once finalised.

Other benefits of the new contract include standardising the product range, a large choice of products within one framework and price reductions from sole awarded suppliers. We aim to drive down the national price across the framework to support the upfront national pricing strategy and provide savings to the NHS.
