Change:

  • In case you missed the original publication dated 19 December, this is a reminder notice to all customers that we will be removing all Fax Machines and associated consumables from our NHS Supply Chain catalogue from 28 January 2019.
  • This is in order to comply with the Department of Health’s policy change which requires all NHS organisations to cease the use of Fax Machines.

Impact:

  • There are a total of 69 product codes affected; these include 12 fax machines and 57 fax machine consumables.
  • There are no alternatives available.

Change:

  • The Department of Health and Social Care have announced a policy change which requires all NHS organisations to cease the use of Fax Machines.
  • From April, NHS organisations will be required to use modern communication methods, such as secure email, to improve patient safety and cyber security.
  • It is part of the Health and Social Care Secretary’s tech vision, to modernise the health service and make it easier for NHS organisations to introduce innovative technologies.
  • In order to comply with this initiative, we will remove all Fax Machines and associated consumables from our NHS Supply Chain catalogue.
  • There are a total of 69 product codes affected; these include 12 fax machines and 57 fax machine consumables.

  • The 69 affected product codes will be delisted from our catalogue on 28 January 2019.
  • There are no alternatives available.
