Reusable Surgical Instruments
Our surgical Instruments framework offers a comprehensive range of reusable surgical instruments to the NHS including forceps, scissors, clamps, speculums, and many others. See our Downloads ▼ section for the product listing with all of these items highlighted in green.
By procuring sustainable surgical instruments NHS procurement teams could unlock significant benefits, including long-term cost savings through reduced replacement and disposal expenses. We want to work with you to understand the full environmental and sustainable benefits that could be realised including:
Benefits
Waste Reduction from Single Use
Reduced Product Consumption
Reduction in Carbon Footprint
Additionally, we have suppliers across our frameworks who offer repair, maintenance and recycling of instruments services that could support streamlining efficiency by ensuring instruments are reliable, well maintained and recycled after use.
Repair, maintenance and recycling services are typically available through our direct route via a Unique Reference Number (URN) where customers are given quotes specific to their order.
The recommended process for this is;
- Customers should obtain a quotation for their specific requirements from a framework supplier who is awarded to the repair/maintenance lot.
- If the customer wishes to proceed with the quotation, then the customer contacts our Category Team, providing a copy of the quotation and a request for a URN.
- The category team will issue a URN (usually within 48 hours) to the customer.
- Customer can then place an order directly with the supplier stating the quotation number and URN.
See our Useful Links section to visit the surgical instrument contract pages for further framework information.
Reusable Compression Wraps For Leg Ulcers
Our reusable compression wraps for venous and mixed aetiology leg ulcers. These wraps provide an alternative to traditional compression bandages which are single use and changed twice a week by a healthcare professional with advanced skills in compression therapy.
The national product codes for the reusable compression wraps have all been highlighted in green on the framework product matrix.
See our Downloads ▼ section for the matrix.
