GS1 UK Healthcare Conference
We are excited to be attending the 7th GS1 Healthcare Conference this year where the benefits of Scan4Safety and GS1 standards to life will be brought to life. The event will provide the opportunity for attendees to network and connect, share best practice, debate key issues facing the health sector but also, identify and solve the challenges of tomorrow.

Panel discussion: Unique product identification: answering the national call for improved product traceability
Sara Ford, Executive Director, Strategy, Change & In Hospital Services will be part of this panel discussion on Tuesday 29 April at 10.15am. The session will cover topics such as;
- How suppliers and manufacturers are leveraging GS1 standards to deliver accurate product data
- Highlighting progress and priorities from the NHS Supply Chain inventory management and point of care scanning rollout
- Connecting the dots between national programmes and strategic policies, such as the Federated Data Platform, Outcomes and Registries Programme, the NHS Strategic Framework for NHS Commercial etc.
- A call to action for all healthcare stakeholders: how adopting Scan4Safety helps meet national policy requirements
The session will be chaired by Simon Walsh, Group Procurement Director, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, other panel members include; Sharon Robson, Managing Director, One LSC and Fiona Hilton, Director Commercial Best Practice and Engagement, NHS England.

The impact of accurate product identification – 2pm, 29 April
Join Frankie Wallace, Data standards engagement manager, NHS Supply Chain and David Newton, Clinical lead for the inventory management solutions programme. They will be discussing NHS Supply Chain’s inventory management system and point of care scanning rollout.
Exploring asset management in action – 2pm, 29 April
Curtis Fallows, Business management lead – diagnostics, equipment & services will be joined by Dr Emmanuel Akinluyi, Deputy chief medical officer, chief biomedical engineer & head of clinical engineering, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust where they will discuss asset identification and tracking: a national approach.
