Contract Update General Wound Care (ICN 3206)

Situation Overview:

• The current General Wound Care framework is due to expire on 31 January 2026.
• Due to unexpected delays during the procurement process, the launch of the new General Wound Care framework is now planned for June 2026.
• Mitigating action is in place for 97.7% of products to ensure they can be supplied during the intervening period.
• ICS managers will proactively work with any impacted trusts to find solutions.

Impact and Mitigating Action:        

• Most products are on stocked lines and sufficient stock has been ordered to meet normal demand for trusts during the period before the new framework launches to mitigate any significant impact. Our teams have worked closely with suppliers to ensure supply continues in this period.
• Of the eDirect products on the framework, further mitigating actions have been taken to reduce the impact on trusts.
• The four highest volume eDirect product lines (EJI077, EJI078, EJI079 and EJI080) will be available via our stocked route from 31 January 2026. We have placed orders to ensure sufficient supply through this period.
• The majority of the 2.3% of usage not covered by these mitigating actions are bandage products. Our ICS Managers will share the detail of impacted product codes directly with trusts to support finding alternative solutions where required.
• Where possible, indirect alternatives are being offered instead.

• Our teams will continue to support the mitigating actions and ensure continuity of supply of these products in this period.
