Contract Update Spectrum X Direct Ltd Hand Hygiene Products (ICN 3269)

Change:

• The supplier Spectrum X Direct Ltd is leaving our Hand Hygiene framework.
• Discussions are ongoing to secure stock from Spectrum X Direct Ltd to ease the customer transition to a new supplier.
• There are four codes affected:
  • MTH85215 – Alcohol free hand sanitiser HOCI based Sporicidal 100ml personal hygiene
  • MTH85206 – Alcohol free hand sanitiser HOCl Sporicidal Liquid 500ml spray bottle
  • MTH85208 – Alcohol free hand sanitiser HOCl Sporicidal Liquid 1000ml for dispenser
  • MTH85145 – Alcohol free hand sanitiser 250ml Spray Bottle.
• Due to the supplier withdrawing products from the market, we will be the single route of supply for the three affected stocked products, which are now subject to Protect Demand Management and are being threshold managed:
  • MTH85215 – Alcohol free hand sanitiser HOCI based Sporicidal 100ml personal hygiene
  • MTH85206 – Alcohol free hand sanitiser HOCl Sporicidal Liquid 500ml spray bottle
  • MTH85208 – Alcohol free hand sanitiser HOCl Sporicidal Liquid 1000ml for dispenser.
• One product is eDirect and is now available whilst stock lasts; once stock has depleted it will then be delisted from our online catalogue:
  • MTH85145 – Alcohol free hand sanitiser 250ml Spray Bottle.
• The supplier is withdrawing these products from the market. Once existing stock is depleted, no further supply will be available. Customers are advised to plan a transition to alternative options ahead of the projected stock‑out dates for stocked products, which are:
  • MTH85215 – Alcohol free hand sanitiser HOCI based Sporicidal 100ml personal hygiene – Mid April 2026
  • MTH85206 – Alcohol free hand sanitiser HOCl Sporicidal Liquid 500ml spray bottle – Mid April 2026
  • MTH85208 – Alcohol free hand sanitiser HOCl Sporicidal Liquid 1000ml for dispenser – Early July 2026.

Impact:

• Protect Demand Managed products are available to order through NHS Supply Chain. However, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS.
• Potential indirect alternative products are available to order through our online catalogue.
• MTH85208 has no alternative products, as it is a dispenser‑specific refill and is only compatible with a single branded dispenser. Customers are encouraged to reach out to alternative dispenser providers on the Hand Hygiene framework and ensure an alternative dispensing solution is installed prior to stock depletion.
• Please note, alternative products may vary in price and are not guaranteed to be lower cost.

• Based on current demand and available inventory, all SKUs impacted in this ICN are expected to be fully depleted and no longer available by 10 July 2026. Customers should ensure that alternative arrangements are in place ahead of this date to maintain continuity of supply.

• ICS Managers have been briefed on the situation and will be available to support the transition.
• Current incumbent suppliers that provide a hand hygiene dispenser offering have been briefed to ensure they are able to support in the transition. Contact details for the incumbents will be shared via the ICS Managers or Voice of the Customer team.
• We recommend that customers contact the incumbent hand hygiene suppliers on the framework that offer dispenser solutions to assist with their transition.
• Customers are advised to submit a demand capture form for their new chosen hand hygiene products, to allow us to order stocks accordingly.
