Important Customer Notice Status New Type Product Update

Change:
- The suppliers Becton Dickinson (BD) have informed us of a product update with their Infusion Pumps, specifically BodyComm™ 3.3 Software products.
- The product group affected is the software associated with BD Infusion Pumps.
- The product update is due to Windows 11 not being compatible with the BodyComm™ 3.3 Software.
Impact:
- Throughout pump service activities, Windows 11 is not compatible with the BodyComm™ 3.3 Software.
- There is a temporary solution during service periods, which requires using a cable, please contact Bodyguard-customerservice@bd.com should this be required. Pumps will continue to work as normal outside of the service process.
- Unfortunately, there are no alternatives available. Customers are advised to contact the supplier directly.
- Answers to the questions below have been received directly from the supplier:
- Will the software be obsolete at the end of September 2025?
- No, the BodyComm™ 3.3 Software is being updated to run with the trust PCs that are or have been updated to Windows 11. The pumps themselves remain unchanged.
- Will there be a period where the software is not supported (as in Windows 10)?
- This is dependent on when NHS PCs containing the BodyComm™ 3.3 Software are updated, however we can provide further advice and support to any trust that has to carry out a service during any potential gap.
- How will customers who have the pumps, obtain the cable as a workaround?
- BD will work with its customers directly to ensure they have this cable when available, please contact: Bodyguard-customerservice@bd.com.
- Is there any impact to the usual operation of the pump?
- There is no impact to the operation of the pumps, and they remain fully safe to use.
- Will the software be obsolete at the end of September 2025?
- Software is not purchased directly via NHS Supply Chain, however this impacts service elements of the pumps purchased via the framework.
