Product Update Molnlycke Health Care Biogel Super-Sensitive Surgeons Gloves (ICN 3334)

• The Biogel Super-Sensitive 975 range is being phased out and replaced by the Biogel Super-Sensitive 825 range.
• The supplier Molnlycke has confirmed that no further stock of the Biogel Super-Sensitive 975 range will be supplied to NHS Supply Chain.
• During the final stages of the transition, some orders will be fulfilled with the Biogel Super-Sensitive 975 range while remaining stock is depleted.
• For products with lower demand, the transition is expected to take longer.
• Customers are advised to check the Manufacturer’s Product Codes (MPCs) on the glove packaging to identify the product range supplied.
• This ICN is now closed.

Change:

• The supplier Molnlycke Health Care Ltd has informed us of a product update with its Biogel Super-Sensitive range of surgeon’s gloves.
• There are eight products affected:
  • FTE1755 – Surgeons Gloves Latex Powder Free Enhanced Sensitivity Sterile Pairs Size 5.5
  • FTE785 – Surgeons Gloves Latex Powder Free Enhanced Sensitivity Sterile Pairs Size 6
  • FTE786 – Surgeons Gloves Latex Powder Free Enhanced Sensitivity Sterile Pairs Size 6.5
  • FTE787 – Surgeons Gloves Latex Powder Free Enhanced Sensitivity Sterile Pairs Size 7
  • FTE788 – Surgeons Gloves Latex Powder Free Enhanced Sensitivity Sterile Pairs Size 7.5
  • FTE789 – Surgeons Gloves Latex Powder Free Enhanced Sensitivity Sterile Pairs Size 8
  • FTE790 – Surgeons Gloves Latex Powder Free Enhanced Sensitivity Sterile Pairs Size 8.5
  • FTE1756 – Surgeons Gloves Latex Powder Free Enhanced Sensitivity Sterile Pairs Size 9.
• The current Biogel Super-Sensitive 975 range is being phased out and replaced by the Biogel Super-Sensitive 825 range.
• The new Biogel Super-Sensitive 825 gloves are produced on curved formers to support a natural hand position.
• They also feature slightly thinner material to support tactile sensitivity and dexterity, and they offer a smooth surface with slightly reduced grip versus the current textured Biogel Super-Sensitive 975 range, to suit a broader range of surgical specialties.
• The new Biogel Super-Sensitive 825 range is PPE certified in line with European Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment, which ensures strict safety and performance standards.

Impact:

• Pricing will remain unchanged following the transition.
• The Biogel Super-Sensitive brand name is unchanged; however, the Manufacturer’s Product Codes (MPCs) will change, National Product Codes (NPCs) remain the same.
• During the transition, mixed MPCs may be dispatched from NHS Supply Chain due to existing stock still in the network.
• Biogel Super-Sensitive 975 stock is now depleted for:
  • FTE785 (Size 6) – (825 version – stock now in the network)
  • FTE787 (Size 7) – (825 version – stock due week commencing 18 May 2026)
  • FTE790 (Size 8.5) – (825 version – stock due week commencing 18 May 2026).
• All other codes will currently be supplied as 975 until we receive deliveries of the 825.
