Product Update Multiple Suppliers Haemostats Flowable Products (ICN 3222)

Action:

• Following a review of our licence arrangements, it has been identified that procurement and supply of cold chain products is not included within the current license.
• Therefore, there is a requirement to immediately move product purchasing to direct arrangements with the suppliers.
• Although these products are not handled within our network, they are supplied via our eDirect route, it has been determined that the licensing requirement remains.
• As such we are obliged to remove these types of products from our catalogue.
• Eight product codes are affected in total:
  • ELS981, ELS997 and ELS1000 – Tisseel Brand
  • ELS85085 and ELS85086 – VeraSeal Brand
  • ELS85028, ELS852029 and ELS85030 – Artiss Brand.

Impact:

• The affected products have been suspended and are unavailable to order through our online catalogue due to the inspection pending further resolution.
• All the affected products require cold storage.
• Potential indirect alternative products are available to order through our online catalogue.
• We recognise however that the alternatives to the affected products are substantially different and therefore clinicians may wish to purchase these products direct from the suppliers (Johnson & Johnson Medical and Baxter Healthcare Ltd) until we can find a resolution.

• To ensure continuity of supply and patient care, any purchases for these particular product lines should be placed direct with the supplier.
