Product Update Multiple Suppliers Patient Dry Wipes (ICN 3298)
Important Customer Notice Status New Type Delisting
Ref: 2026/3298
ICN Number: 3298
Change:
- As part of the new Skin Cleansing Disinfection and Hygiene framework, the current range of plastic‑containing dry wipes will be replaced with new plastic‑free (PF) 100% viscose dry wipes.
- As a result, these plastic dry wipes products are being discontinued.
- There are six products affected:
- VJT683 – Wipe Patient Dry
- VJT684 – Wipe Patient Dry
- VJT685 – Wipe Patient Dry
- VJT686 – Wipe Patient Dry
- VJT690 – Wipe Patient Dry
- VJT691 – Wipe Patient Dry.
Impact:
- The affected products are available to order while our remaining stocks last and will then be delisted from our online catalogue.
- As stock of these items reduces, automatic substitution to direct alternatives may occur.
- The new PF patient dry wipes will not be available to purchase until mid-May 2026 once stock of the plastic containing dry wipes has sold through.
- Two affected products prices have been reduced to encourage depletion of stock ahead of the move to PF options:
- VJT690 – Wipe Patient Dry 100% Synthetic 33gsm 240x265mm 100 wipes per pack
- VJT691 – Wipe Patient Dry Mixed Blend 80% Synthetic 20% Cellulosic 46 GSM 240 x 265mm 100 wipes per pack.
- See our Downloads ▼ section to access the product listing for further information on the affected product codes.
Next Steps:
- Customers are encouraged to continue purchasing current plastic-containing lines until stock has been depleted
- If not already done, customers are encouraged to request samples of the upcoming plastic‑free products and to submit a demand capture for their preferred new product once available.
- See our Downloads ▼ section to obtain a Demand Capture Form.
- We have seen increased interest in incumbent maceratable lines ahead of the PF launch. If switching to these before mid‑May 2026, we kindly ask customers to allow four weeks from submitting their demand capture before completing the transition.
- We will provide an update to this ICN when plastic‑containing stock is close to depletion and when the new product range is ready to order.
- If you have any further questions, please contact your local NHS Supply Chain Customer Services Advisor.
