Product Update P. Mulrine & Sons Patient Feeding Fruit Juices Formulation Change AAB85000 and AAB85001 (ICN 3153)

Change:

• The supplier P. Mulrine & Sons has informed us of a product update due to a formulation change with its Patient Feeding Juices.
• The two products affected are:
  • AAB85000 – Cold Beverages Fruit Juice Carton Orange Blend 12 x 1 litre
  • AAB85001 – Cold Beverages Fruit Juice Carton Orange blend 27 X 200ml.
• The formulation will change from a Kulana Orange Juice Blend to Kulana 100% Orange Juice.
• To ensure continuity of supply to the NHS, our existing product codes will remain unchanged, however the product codes, description, product specifications and images will be updated in our online catalogue within due course.
• The NHS Supply Chain Food Dietitian has reviewed the change and confirmed that the nutritional values remain the same.

Impact:          

• The affected codes will remain available to order but will now be produced using a new recipe.
• Potential indirect alternative products are also available to order through our online catalogue:
  • AAN206 – Cold Beverages Fruit Juice Carton 100% pure apple juice 1 litre
  • AAN219 – Cold Beverages Juice Drinks Carton Apple Juice from Concentrate 200ml.

Next Steps:              

• The products remain available, but customers need to be aware of the products being 100% orange juice.
• The alternatives available are apple juice rather than orange juice and customers will need to consider the price of the alternatives.
