Product Update Zebra Technologies Europe Ltd Firmware Upgrade Recyclable Wristband Cartridges (ICN 3061)

Alert:

• Zebra Technologies Europe Ltd have issued a letter regarding a growing concern over the new Recyclable Wristband Cartridges used with their ZD510-HC printers.
• They have received an increase in quality related issues especially affecting the following six products due to not being recognised with new installation of the wristband cartridges:
  • FSL85013 – Printable patient identification wristband Adult White
  • CJZ85052 – Bracelet patient identification printable New Recycled Adult White
  • CJZ85000 – Printable patient identification wristband New Recycled Adult White
  • CJZ85044 – Printable patient identification wristband New Recycled Adult White
  • CJZ85053 – Printable patient identification wristband New Recycled Adult White
  • CJZ85054 – Printable patient identification wristband New Recycled Adult White.
• As a result, the printers are unable to print, causing workflow disruptions.

Impact:

• The six products primarily affected are available from NHS Supply Chain.
• Zebra advises to update printer models ZD510-HC to the latest version FW v83.20333Z.
• Zebra notes that in upgrading the software to the latest version FW v83.20.33Z, any cartridges with a Date of Manufacture (DOM) prior to April 2022 will no longer be compatible with the ZD510-HC printers. The DOM is written on the spine of the cartridge.
• Also, after the upgrade, HC100 cartridges will no longer be compatible with the ZD510-HC printers.
