Change:

• The supplier Becton Dickinson UK Ltd Stock Oxford has informed us of a supply issue with its Safety Needle and Spinal Needle products.
• The two product codes affected are:
  • FTR1167 – Safety Hypodermic Needle 27G Grey x 13mm Sterile
  • FTR449 – Spinal Needle Luer 25G Orange x 90mm (3.5 inch) Quincke Sterile.
• The supply issue is due to increased demand and lead times.
• Due to this ongoing supply issue these products are now being threshold managed as they are subject to Protect Demand Management.

Impact:          

• FTR1167 and FTR449 are available to order through NHS Supply Chain. However, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS.
• Potential indirect alternative products are available to order through our online catalogue.
