Change:

• The supplier Becton Dickinson has informed us of a supply issue with its Blood Gas Syringe products.
• One product code is affected:
  • FWC082 – Blood Gas Syringe Without Needle 1ml no needle plus a line slip tip contains 30/50 IU of Spray dried Calcium-balanced Lithium heparin.
• The supply issue is due to increased demand and lead times; demand has outstripped supply.
• Due to this ongoing supply issue this product is now being threshold managed as it is subject to Protect Demand Management.

Impact:

• FWC082 is available to order through NHS Supply Chain. However, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS.
