Supply Issues ICU Medical Airways Management Multiple Products (ICN 3356)

• The supply issue with multiple products across our Airways Management and Associated Products framework is continuing.
• ICU Medical has advised that they are experiencing difficulties in shipping products due to the consolidation of two warehouses into one.
• Due to this, all the affected product codes may experience intermittent supply.
• 10 further products are now suspended and unavailable to order:
  • FDG901, FDG903, FDH292, FDH293, FDH294, FDH295, FDH298, FDH299, FDH301 and FDH302.
• 39 product codes remain suspended and unavailable to order.
• 68 product codes are now currently subject to intermittent supply.
• Four products remain subject to Protect Demand Management:
  • FDF017, FDF168, FDF264 and FDF265.
• 121 product codes are affected in total.
• Products subject to demand management are available to order through NHS Supply Chain. However, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS.
• Potential indirect alternative products are available to order through our online catalogue for the affected products. However, some of these products may also become subject to intermittent supply with the increase in demand.

• There are 111 product codes affected.
• ICU Medical have advised that they are experiencing difficulties in shipping products due to the consolidation of two warehouses into one.
• Due to this all the affected product codes may experience intermittent supply.

Impact:          

• 99 product codes are currently subject to intermittent supply.  
• 12 product codes are currently suspended and unavailable to order:
  • FDF037, FDF10118, FDF10190, FDF10197, FDF10219, FDF10237, FDF345, FDF349, FDF491, FDF547, FDF549 and FSM7030.
• There are potential indirect alternatives for most of the products. These products are available to order through our online catalogue.
• However, some of these products may also be subject to intermittent supply.

• The supply issue is anticipated to be resolved by 31 July 2026.

Next Steps:              

• The continuing supply issue is being monitored in conjunction with the supplier, and we will continue to review the stock situation to minimise further disruption and update this ICN with the latest information as it becomes available.
• However, as this is currently a disrupted market and supply is subject to rapid change, the alternatives offered may also be experiencing temporary supply issues and therefore, customers may need to consider clinically reviewing all additional alternatives provided.
