• The supply issue with Ioban™ Drapes from KCI Medical Limited is continuing.
• One product is now available to order through our online catalogue:
  • ELW189 – Drape incise sterile, 60 x 35 incise area 35 x 35 iodophor impregnated.
• Two further products are now subject to intermittent supply:
  • ELW897 – Drape incise sterile 66 x 60 incise area 56 x 60 iodophor impregnated
  • ELW290 – Drape incise sterile 66 x 85 incise area 56 x 85 iodophor impregnated.
• Two products are no longer subject to intermittent supply and are now subject to Protect Demand Management:
  • ELW891 – Drape incise sterile 15 x 20 incise area 10 x 20 iodophor impregnated
  • VJD104 – Drape Isolation 328 x 252 incise area 70 x 32 fluid collection pouch with exit port2 x instrument pouches2 x tube and cord organisers.
• One product remains subject to Protect Demand Management:
  • ELW470 – Drape incise sterile 30x20cm incise area 26x20cm iodophor impregnated framed delivery system.
• Five products are now affected in total.
• Products subject to Protect Demand Management are available to order through NHS Supply Chain. However, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS.
• Potential indirect alternative products are available to order through our online catalogue for the affected products. However, some of these products may also become subject to intermittent supply with the increase in demand.

• The supplier KCI Medical Limited has informed us of a supply issue with its IOBAN Drapes products.
• Four product codes are affected:
  • ELW907 – X-Ray Cassette Drape, 165 x 106cm – intensifier
  • ELW470 – Drape incise sterile, 30x20cm incise area 26x20cm iodophor impregnated framed delivery system
  • ELW189 – Drape incise sterile, 60 x 35 incise area 35 x 35 iodophor impregnated
  • ELW861 – Drape incise sterile, 90 x 85 incise area 85 x 60.
• The supply issue is due to shipping delay. This has been caused by operational issues within the supplier’s warehouse.
• Due to this ongoing supply issue these products are now being threshold managed as it is subject to Protect Demand Management.

Impact:          

• The affected product codes are available to order through NHS Supply Chain. However, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS.
• Please be advised the alternative listed for ELW861 is 10cm smaller.
