Supply Issues KCI Medical Limited Barrier Film Spray ELY040 (ICN 2867)

Change:

• The supplier KCI Medical Limited has informed us of a supply issue with its Barrier Film Spray.
• One product code is affected:
  • ELY040 – Barrier film spray no sting sterile.
• The supply issue is due to Increased demand due to a shortage of alternative products in the marketplace. KCI Medical does not currently have enough manufacturing capacity to meet the total increased demand.
• Due to this ongoing supply issue this product is now being threshold managed as it is subject to Protect Demand Management.

Impact:

• ELY040 is available to order through NHS Supply Chain. However, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS
• Potential indirect products are available to order through our online catalogue.
• Indirect alternatives ELY562 and ELY561 are also subject to Demand Management but another alternative is available.
